Céilí House

Cúl na Sméar Hall
11th November 2006
Broadcast on 11th November 2006, RTE Radio's long standing show Ceili House featured senior members of our local Comhaltas group.
The local audience got two treats the night of the recording: great music AND watching the interesting mechanics of a "live" radio broadcast. This included, unfortunately, the death of an important piece of recording equipment and the cobbling together of a backup system.
Full honours to Michéal Marrinan for putting together the show in short order when a slot unexpectedly opened on the Ceili House schedule. And it was a great credit to all the local musicians who turned up on very short notice.
After years and years of making music together and playing the summer Sesiún shows, the musicians and dancers of Craobh na gCumarch are tight. No bother on them at all, at all, to play and dance a couple dozen pieces of ravishing music to an international audience.
